Division Vopak LNG
The LNG Division of Vopak operates four terminals in joint ventures, of which two are land-based and the other two are floating storage. The onshore terminals are Gate terminal in Rotterdam and Terminal Altamira in Mexico. In Port Qasim in Pakistan we run a floating regasification terminal and in Colombia we have a share in the SPEC terminal in Cartagena. At the moment we are preparing the commissioning of jetty operations in Hong Kong and we are engaged in several projects in Australia, South Africa and Singapore. We are aiming to expand our footprint in the LNG infrastructure business worldwide and foresee significant growth for the coming years. It is our challenge to explain well to all of our stakeholders how LNG can play a positive role in the energy transition and to continuously find innovative solutions to reduce our environmental footprint at our terminals.
What will be your role?
As Business Development Manager, you are going to be a member of the global LNG Commercial & Business Development team. This team is mainly located in Rotterdam and Singapore. You will focus on the Asia market and contribute to the commercial activities of various projects in the East of Suez, from early development up to final investment decisions. You will be working closely together with the BD team in the LNG head office in Rotterdam and other Vopak colleagues located in Singapore, China and Brazil. Your reporting line is to the Commercial & Business Development Director of Vopak LNG. Your office location will be Singapore.
An Academic degree in Economics, Management Studies or Business Administration;
At least 6 years of working experience in a relevant industry in Asia;
In depth experience in gas and the LNG market, knowledge on LNG floating/onshore import infrastructure;
Preferred is a network and experience in business development in India;
Goal orientation and diplomatic deal making; ability to contribute to negotiations of multiple complex 20 years capacity contracts with a market value of more than hundred million euros per annum;
Basic technical skills regarding site selection (location) for business opportunities with regard to port, customers, grid, regulator, etcetera;
Strong long-term relationship management skills and sensitivity for internal and external stakeholder management (partners, customers, state-owned gas companies and utilities, governments, authorities);
Team player and capability to act in a remote and multicultural global team;
Conceptual, strategic and creative thinking;
Fluent in English and good writing skills;
Able and willing to travel.

The final candidate is in possession of an Employment Pass for Singapore and will be awarded a local labor contract.
Tasks & responsibilities:
Lead business development projects from (pre-) identification up and to complete FID for mid to large size LNG floating and/or onshore import infrastructure projects, with a focus on the Asia LNG/gas market;
The focus is on the LNG business but in case opportunities arise BD support to New Energies projects can be requested, meaning an engagement with products like CO2 storage, Liquid Hydrogen infrastructure or Flow Batteries technology;
Contribute to and lead the preparation, negotiation and contracting with clients and partners;
Manage on a project basis a multidisciplinary team of professionals in often a remote and multicultural team;
Manage a part of the business development project scope, including commerce, operations, technical, finance, legal and stakeholders including JV partners and authorities.
