Your role and impact:

As our Business Analysis Manager, you will bring in your financial expertise to drive deep analysis of new investment projects for the Asia & Middle East region. You are a committed team player who will work as an integral team with the Business Development team and other functions to bring the investment projects to the finish line. You will also be responsible for post implementation project reviews to make sure that the business plan is aligned with the investment proposals. Responsibilities:

Project Development

  • Overall responsible for finance-related topics for regional investment projects in the growth pipeline.
  • Lead business scenario analysis and financial modeling in new investment opportunities, including mergers & acquisitions:
  • Lead various project finance-related work-streams to secure key deliverables to advance project progress.
  • Support project teams in devising strategies to enhance project feasibility including developing business cases, scenario analyses, detail structure, project financing, due diligence, etc.
  • Work with Commercial, Business Development, Technical, and other functional teams to build financial models that support business cases, and ensure assumptions are well-substantiated.
  • Develop case scenarios and sensitivities to support decision-making during various project stages.

Investment Proposals Evaluation and Monitoring

Investment Proposal (IP) appraisal and governance:

  • Fully responsible for evaluating Operating companies (local subsidiaries) or sponsored Investment Proposals, from various perspectives including commercial, operational, financial and risk management, and providing an integrated and well-substantiated recommendation for investment decision making.
  • Ensure that the IPs and financial models properly evaluated and adhere to Vopak investment policies and financial evaluation guidelines.
  • Train and support local subsidiaries to ensure a good level of local competency in the finance team.

Projects Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Monitor approved projects from a financial and risk management perspective to ensure projects are executed in accordance to assumptions and budgets as per approved IPs.
  • Work with subsidiaries and functional teams in consolidating data and information on projects in execution, or commissioned, to provide project status reporting to Corporate.
  • Ensure data and information consistency and accuracy across various systems and sources.
  • Facilitate joint venture discussions on behalf of Vopak to ensure project returns delivered as per IPs.

Business Analysis and Treasury:

  • Support commercial negotiations, contract, and concession renewals.
  • Responsible for Financing and Treasury matters:
  • Devise and govern dividend policies of OpCos
  • Monitor the growth agenda of local subsidiaries to ensure proper funding strategy in place by liaising with Corporate Treasury.
  • Review local subsidiaries' cash flow forecast, to plan for equity injection, monitor dividend declaration from OpCos and provide support to OpCos to ensure compliance and maximize shareholder interests. 

Requirements:

  • Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, and engineering required.
  • Substantiated experience in business analysis and financial modeling, with at least 7 to 10 years' experience in a similar capacity and high capex industry.
  • A team player, who can work independently with cross-functional task forces.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Proactive, attention to detail, results-driven, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong ability to plan, prioritize and organize.
  • Willingness to travel when allowed.
